Welcome to The Driving Instructor Directory. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our platform. By using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please discontinue use of our platform.

Key Definitions

Platform: The website and associated services provided by The Driving Instructor Directory.
User: Any individual accessing or using the platform.
Instructor: Users who register as driving instructors and create profiles on the platform.
Featured Instructor: An Instructor who subscribes to our paid Featured Instructor plan.
We/Us/Our: Refers to The Driving Instructor Directory.

Eligibility

To use our platform, you must:

Be at least 18 years old.
Agree to comply with these Terms.
Provide accurate and up-to-date information during registration.

Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
Ensuring all information you provide is accurate and current.
Activities that occur under your account.

Use of the Platform

You agree to:

Use the platform only for lawful purposes.
Refrain from submitting false or misleading information.
Avoid engaging in activities that harm the platform's functionality or reputation.

Instructor Obligations

Instructors using the platform agree to:

Provide accurate and honest information about their qualifications, services, and pricing.
Maintain valid certifications and licences as required by local laws.
Respond promptly to user inquiries and uphold high standards of professionalism.

Featured Instructor Subscription

We offer a paid Featured Instructor subscription plan that provides additional benefits to Instructors, including priority placement in search results, a bio section on their profile, featuring on our homepage, and a Featured badge.

Pricing and Billing

The Featured Instructor subscription is priced at £19.99 per month.
By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel.
Your subscription will automatically renew each month on the same date you originally subscribed.
All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details.
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. You will be notified in advance of any price changes, and continued use of the subscription after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Manage Subscription section on your profile page, which will direct you to the Stripe Customer Portal.
Upon cancellation, your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period. You will not be charged again after cancellation.
After your subscription ends, your Featured benefits (priority search placement, homepage featuring, Featured badge, and public bio display) will be removed.
Your bio content will be retained in our system. If you resubscribe in the future, a previously approved bio will be restored automatically without requiring re-approval.

Refunds

Subscription payments are generally non-refundable.
If you believe you have been charged in error, please contact us at [email protected] and we will review your case.

Account Deletion

If you delete your account while you have an active subscription, your subscription will be cancelled immediately and no further charges will be made. No pro-rata refund will be issued for the remaining period.

Bio Content and Moderation

Featured Instructors may submit a bio to be displayed on their public profile. All bio submissions are subject to review and approval by our team before being made publicly visible.

We reserve the right to reject or remove any bio content that:

Contains false, misleading, or inaccurate information.
Includes offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate language.
Contains spam, advertising for unrelated services, or external links.
Violates any applicable laws or regulations.

If your bio is rejected, you may submit a revised version for review. While a new bio is pending review, your previously approved bio (if any) will continue to be displayed publicly.

Payments Between Users and Instructors

Payments for driving lessons or related services are arranged and handled directly between users and instructors. We are not a party to any agreement between users and instructors, and we are not responsible for disputes arising from such transactions.

Prohibited Activities

You may not:

Use the platform to harass, abuse, or harm others.
Circumvent or attempt to bypass security measures.
Submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes on intellectual property rights.
Create multiple accounts to abuse free or paid features.
Use automated tools to scrape, collect, or extract data from the platform.

Content Ownership

User Content: You retain ownership of the content you submit but grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, modify, and display it on the platform for the purpose of providing our services.

Platform Content: All platform materials, including designs, logos, and text, are our intellectual property and may not be used without permission.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you:

Violate these Terms.
Engage in fraudulent or harmful activities.
Provide false or misleading information on your profile.

If your account is terminated by us due to a violation of these Terms, any active subscription will be cancelled and no refund will be issued.

You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Upon deletion, any active subscription will be cancelled immediately.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the platform.
We are not responsible for the quality of driving instruction provided by instructors listed on the platform.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the platform or subscription shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform or violation of these Terms.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be effective upon posting on this page, and the effective date will be updated accordingly. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. For material changes affecting your subscription, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
